Summertime Sun Shine Workout!

I did this workout OUTSIDE in
116 Degree Weather.

IT WAS AS HOT AS IT SOUNDS!

Sunscreen, Hat and Swimming directly after were needed for my survival.

and now, I must go to sleep, because all that sunshine Wears a person OUT!

Quick Lil' Workout!

Today was HOT here in AZ!! We had a heat warning, with Temperatures up to 112-118 Degrees!!

My initial goal was to go running, but I only made it a little less than 1/2 a mile before I had to turn around and go home.. It was TOO HOT!

Me before my workout today!

I'm a little bloated because my eating has been FAR from perfect lately!! Still trying to get into that summer routine - and I haven't been spending any money on food prep, because I am working a small part time job and trying to SAVE money!

Quicky Workout:

I ended up just doing this small set of movements to get my body moving!!

It hardly took any time at all, and while I KNOW I could've done allot more - I was glad at least I got my body movin'!

Tomorrow I will do a REAL/HARD workout!

What are your "go to" workouts on the go??

At Home CROSSFIT Workout!

Tonight, my workout buddies and I were pretty tired and unmotivated - so we decided to do a FAST w.o.d instead of work for the whole hour we had allotted!

So we did this workout!

As Many Rounds of possible of  3-6-9 Burpees, Squats & Sit-ups!

I was able to complete 13 rounds in nine minutes!

I had allot more in me after this workout - I would have GLADLY lifted some weights.

Unfortunately I have a HUGE test tomorrow (midterm) to study for.

I would say more - but I STILL need to study for this test!

TIMED My Mile Run for the FIRST TIME!

Last July when I first began this journey (before I ever heard of Cross Fit), I started out by running in the mornings.

I struggled with running ALLOT - and I couldn't even run 1 mile without having to stop and rest in the middle.

I had a two mile route I would follow and I had to stop a couple times along the way to walk.

Was I lacking actual endurance? Or just mental strength?

Last night, as part of getting into my structured at home workout - I ran a mile for time.

Don't worry, before that I stretched my little heart out:

I ran my mile in 10.53!!!

10 minutes -

that's SO close to my 7.45 minute mile I used to run in High School!!!

I am so proud that I can now run a mile without stopping & I have increased my time from about a 15-17 min mile to a 10.53 minute mile!!

1 year of working hard really pays off!

We will be running a timed mile again in a couple months to see how much we have improved!!

I'm loving be able to workout on my own time!

First AT HOME WORKOUT!!!

Today was my FIRST day at Captain Jeff's Boot camp!!!

My sis in law (really just my boyfriends-brothers-wife, but sister in law is much easier to say) and I were super pumped to start our first day!

I can already tell this is going to be ALLOT of fun!

I truly loved my CrossFit gym, but it was VERY nice to workout with just one other person & feel like I was getting the attention and 1 on 1 time I needed with a coach!

We started with some dynamic stretching:

Then worked on some skills with the Barbells... Something I haven't done since my first days at CrossFit!

It was nice to go back to basics and refresh my memory on the skills I had learned (and some I had forgotten!)

Practicing perfect form before starting the lift
WHERE ARE YOU TRIPLE EXTENSION???
Split Jerk!

In these pics I am refreshing my memory of the proper form needed for Clean & Jerks... Can you tell I DO NOT have a triple extension!!?? Still working on that form!

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, a triple extension looks like this:
(the middle picture)

After the warm up & skill session, we did a Mini Wod!

I finished in 3 minutes and a small amount of seconds that I do not remember!!

It felt pretty great to workout, and be surrounded by people the I love and trust and I am VERY excited to continue my at home workouts!!!!

Question of the day....
WHAT am I doing in this Picture!!!?????

Found this gem with the workout pics my boyfriend took.. hmm??

Cancelling My Gym Membership :`(

That's right folks...

TOMORROW I WILL BE CANCELLING MY CROSSFIT GYM MEMBERSHIP!

:`(

This decision was really hard for me,

but I had to face the facts...

I'm just a poor college student!!!

This year I will be starting an internship with my Teaching program at ASU.

I will not be able to work - or only able to work very little hours.

I realized that it is in my best interest to save money and workout at home - at my boyfriends garage gym or use my families gym membership for free.

BUT!

Good things have happened!
My wonderful sister in law (well, not really sisters but that's another story) and I are going to start training with my Jeff in his garage gym 4 nights a week!!!

What does this mean for my blog??

More at home workouts!

More Pictures!

More Love!
(I'm not sure why I added this, but it made sense in my head)

I have LOVED my time at CrossFit, I will miss it,  and I have learned ALLOT!

The last 9 months of CrossFit have made me stronger than I ever thought I would be.

It also gave me amazing self-confidence, and taught me what a REAL workout should feel like.

I am confident that I will be able to take what I have learned at CrossFit and apply it to my home workouts & workouts at the local gym!

I'm looking forward to this change!

Chocolate Protein Waffles!!!

This Recipe was the BOMB.COM!!!!

I was craving something sweet for breakfast today and had seen several Protein Waffle recipes on Pinterest recently and BAM!

These Babies were born!

Ingredients:
1 tbsp + 1 tsp coconut flour
1 scoop protein powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup milk (or almond/coconut milk)
1 egg

The recipe makes ONE waffle, (super filling) and was Easy Peasy!!!

Directions:
  1. Heat waffle iron & grease with coconut oil
  2. Mix dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl
  3. Mix wet ingredients together into the dry ingredients
  4. IMPORTANT: I highly suggest you add fruit to your waffle batter, because it is gluten free & protein packed and very dense!
  5. Add Cinnamon & Vanilla to taste
  6. Poor into Greased waffle iron!
  7. ENJOY!

Throw Back Thursday

Alright, you caught me.

This post may NOT be fitness related!

But I saw a blogger that I ADORE doing a throwback Thursday link up, and when I saw this weeks theme was Elementary School Crush, I couldn't HELP but link up with her!!!

P.s. if you want to link up, the link party is going on HERE!

Oh elementary school.

If you were cool, you had a boyfriend or girlfriend (that you would never talk to, EVER) or if you were NOT cool (like me) then you loved from afar.

I had some pretty crazy unrequited love/crushes that went on from 3rd grade to 5th grade!

Lucky for me, I KEPT A HILARIOUS DIARY OF IT ALL!!!

My beautiful Limited Too Diary.

Here I am in all my glory. (if you can see me..)

Here is another picture from this time period, I AM ON THE FAR LEFT!

As you can see, I was NOT one of those elementary school "beauties".

The gallery of the boys I loved... Jarred & Jason.

 Jason

Jarred

Don't they look like the typical elementary school hunks???
They both were athletes (meaning, they ran around on the playground VERY well) and I LOVED both of them.

Jason I loved in third grade and Jarred I loved in Fourth and Fifth Grade.
I loved Jarred MORE than I ever loved Jason.
I sat next to Jarred for many long months... I NEVER TALKED TO HIM!

My whole life, I have been able to look back and laugh that in my childhood, I was OBSESSED with someone for two years whom I never spoke to.

He probably thought I was VERY creepy!

Lucky for me, I looked him up on facebook a couple years ago.... Just to see what the stud of my childhood dreams was up to...

And he is a TOTAL LOSER NOW!

Okay - I don't normally talk about people like that.
Let me say it like this - High-school Drop out/Stoner Status!

What were some crazy crush experiences you had as a kid!!??

Weightlifting Wod & My Day 2 Day!

FINALLY got to the gym today!!!

It felt AMAZING!

I was able to hit:

 125 lbs on the Squats
70 lbs on the Press
195 on the Deadlift

_______________________________________________________________________

As for my goal of taking pictures of my food, I did a little better...

Breakfast was a banana with peanut butter

Lunch was a Chicken Cesar Salad

Snack: Cantaloupe!

I ate dinner at my new place of work! I am working respite care for a family, and I am absolutely LOVING IT!!!!!!

Today they fed me, which was incredibly sweet of them and it was a delicious Hamburger!

Not too shabby on my daily eats, but I definitely need to get back into logging my food onto My Fitness Pal!!!

Also, after I worked today I was able to get a chance to meet with these guys and say good bye!!!!!
These are some of the missionaries I have come to love over the past month and it was hard to say good bye!!!

Aren't they adorable?? Such funny little guys!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Tuesday!

Lets start with something VERY important....

DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE GOOGLE THINGY!!!???

That is my way of saying : I am probably the last person on earth who discovered that GOOGLE FRIENDS CONNECT IS ABANDONING US

Apparently the only way to save your readers, is to encourage them all to switch to following people on Bloglovin??

Lucky for me I have one!

You can follow me on Bloglovin' by clicking this giant bloglovin' button below!!!

Follow on Bloglovin

I hope ya'll follow me because I LOVE every single one of you, and it makes blogging (and fitness journeys) way more fun when you have great bloggy friends!

Okay enough about that.

Lets talk about HOW I FAILED MISERABLY AT KEEPING MY GOALS TODAY.

I started my first day of work, procrastinated my way through the morning and did NOT workout.

Then I only took ONE really crappy picture of my meal:

The picture is crappy, but the food tasted ALLOT better than the picture makes it look!

To make things worse, my family went out for frozen yogurt tonight without me, and I was jealous so I ate a huge bowl of icecream.

Let's hope I can do a little better tomorrow!!

Let's Set Some GOALS!

This week has been a CRAZY busy week for me!

(I spent a large portion of my week shopping for special events that are coming up in my near future)

I only made it to the gym twice....

YIKES!

To ensure that I workout at least 4 times next week and stick to my eating plan, I decided it would be best to set some goals I can stick to this week ;)

Goals:

I have not been documenting everything I have been eating... This had led me to be a little relaxed about some of my food choices. So I need to blog EVERYDAY and at least try to include my food!

I'm a HUGE believer in rest & days off of working out.
It's important to give your body time to re-coop!!
That being said - I do NOT workout everyday!
But I would like to workout at least 4 times a week!

I haven't been able to work yet this summer, because my respite patient has been sick!
Since I haven't had an income I have NOT been grocery shopping for myself.
This has lead me to just eat whatever is available in the house (sticking to clean/paleo eating)!
I have noticed that I have been eating allot more dairy & meat products and less veggies.
I NEED to make a conscious effort to eat more veggies!

I wrote a blog post earlier this week about how I have been attempting to make myself look more acceptable daily!! I fell into a terrible habit of sporting the "grunge" look in 2011-2012!
My goal is to try my best to dress nice and do my hair and makeup everyday!
This actually boosts my confidence and also in a weird way, keeps me motivated to eat healthy....

I hope everyone has a fantastic Fathers Day!!!!
xoxo
