Bacon for Dinner

Today I had a LONG, LONG day.

I'm a spoiled person when it comes to jobs..  I get to be active & play with kids!

BUT TODAY, I had to go into a training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HOW DO PEOPLE SIT AT DESKS ALL DAY!!!???

My legs and butt were so cramped, and my stomach started to feel bloated and my back started to get achey from sitting up straight in a chair and working/testing/listening for all that time!!

I seriously have new respect for anyone who works a desk job, and am SO GLAD I am majoring in education.... a Job that requires you to move around frequently!!!!

Breakfast was 2 fried eggs & broccoli!

These are the things I packed to the training today for lunch & snacks!!!

Was it weird being the only person at the training NOT taking the free starchy/sugary snacks & eating fresh foods out of tubs?

Yes, I will say it WAS a little weird.

Was it worth it?

HECK YEAH!

While everyone there munched on cookies & crackers & candy all day, I ate like a KING!

Dinner:
ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL??!!!!

After a long day sitting, bored out of my mind I decided I deserved a treat!!!
I came home, stretched and I made guacamole and dipped bacon in it.

BEST DINNER EVER.

For a "workout" tonight I played volleyball with some friends from high school!!

It was allot of fun!!

In the beginning I was afraid to go after the ball, but by the end I was actually getting into it!!

and WOW volleyball really works up a sweat! I'm going to try and play games like that more often!

Hope ya'll had a great day!

It's amazing how sitting at a desk all day can really wipe you out!

Job Interviews, CrossFit & Staying Motivated!

I started out my day by going to a Job Interview!!! I was going for the business profesh look hahah!

What do you think I should do this Summer?

Work 2 jobs and save money for next year, or enjoy myself while it lasts and work 1 job before I start my junior year of College?

(Personally, I'm leaning towards the 2nd option)

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs served omelette style & an avocado

 Lunch: Chicken & Hummus Salad

Snack: Strawberries

Dinner: Famous Dave's BBQ Chicken, Ribs & Green Beans AGAIN!
The boyfriend and I have some FREE coupons we need to finish off before they expire in the end of May!!
BBQ Overload this month!

I LOVED This workout!!! I was able to hit 95lbs on my push press and I did not even catch my time at the end of the dog sleds because I pretty much passed out on the floor, but they were HARD

Just me, dead on the floor after pushing the sled!!!

Tomorrow I have a Training ALL DAY (8 am to 5 pm) for my new/summer job so I packed up a days worth of snacks/meals:

I LOVE feeling prepared and motivated!!!!!! Ever since I have started instagram I have been SUPER motivated to eat as clean as possible and get back into the whole weight loss thing!

What do you do to stay motivated?

10 Months of Healthy Blogging!!!!

I started out my day by comparing what I have been able to accomplish in the past 10 months...
The left my first Day in July 2012 weighing 157 lbs, the right my last weigh in April 2013 @ 138 lbs!

When I put these two pictures side by side I was SHOCKED!
I did not realize what a BIG difference was made!

Maybe only I notice because it is my body...

But my face & boobs & waist have DEFINITELY gotten smaller!!!

It's amazing what (almost) a year of mostly clean eating and going to the gym at least 3 days a week will give you!!

I'm SO HAPPY I decided to change my life!!! Everyday I feel healthier & happier about my body!

I can't wait to see what the future holds and I am SO EXCITED TO ROCK A BIKINI THIS SUMMER!

Also,
I FINALLY made an instagram, and that was one of the pictures I posted yesterday!!!

You can follow me at:

Day 2:

 Breakfast: Smoothie.
Banana, Strawberries, Milk.

 Lunch: Famous Daves
2 ribs, 1/4 of a chicken & green beans

Dinner: Some kind of chicken cooked in a pineapple salsa? With mixed Veggies & fruit!

(my sweet boyfriends mom invited us over for dinner and cooked this in my honor, knowing I was doing a Paleo Challenge!)

***Then she invited me over the next day for enchiladas... which I politely declined ;)

I did well on my graph today (I am going for more fat and protein, less carbs) so this made me happy!

And THEN I made a grocery list for when I get my next pay check!!!
(that means I don't need these for the week-week food, just frivolous spending) ;)

I've been thinking allot about how I can make my lifestyle more "liveable".

I'm not one of those people who could be hardcore Paleo FOREVER!!!

But I have decided I LOVE being gluten free.

I started doing research last night about a few different things I could add back into my diet
 (in proper proportions).
I have been looking through the AWESOME blog Mark's Daily Apple and if you search his website, you will find he has gone through the different health benefits/negative aspects of ALLOT of foods!!!!

Things like:

Steel Cut Oats
Brown Rice?

I'm going to keep researching the best gluten-free, almost paleo things that fall under the EAT CLEAN category!

Do you eat rice? Steel cut oats?

What type of eating plan do you follow?

WHY You Should Make Your Own Trail Mix!

Trail Mix seems like a healthy and innocent snack...

BUT

Many mixes throw in Chocolate chips/ M&M's

Loads of salt

&

Added sugars.

This could easily make that "healthy" little handful of trail mix

 contain 300-plus calories!!!!

Making your own trail mix can offer a high protein, high energy

snack - without the calorie overload!

All you need are:

 2-3 Types Unsalted Nuts
You can find these at any Fry's in a dispenser area

1-2 Types of dried fruit:
Also found at Fry's: organic & unsweetened or naturally sweetened

I also like to add Dark Chocolate covered fruit pieces from Next

Organics.

I've only ever found them at Albertsons, but they are all organic
and their products contain:

NO Chemical residues, Micro-biological pathogens & GMO ingredients.

You can check out their website here!

I usually go to Fry's to make my trail mix because most Fry's have

an aisle where you can self serve yourself Nuts & dried fruit pieces

& pay by weight for fairly cheap!

I like to get pecans, almonds, banana chips, raisins, & then add in a

package of my dark chocolate fruit from Organics!!

One 1/4 cup serving of my trail mix has about:

109 Calories
7.5 Fats
12 Carbs
1 Fiber
3 Proteins

I typically eat a serving every morning, 2 hours after juicing to

sustain me until lunch!!!

Today I am snacking on it while I study for my finals this week...
Wish me luck!

Planning an OFFICIAL 30 Day Chalenge...Again!

Many of you followed me through my first 30 day challenge I completed a couple weeks ago!

(if you weren't with me then, you can read about my experience here!)

I thought going into the challenge that it would be hard and that I would grow to hate it...

But those of you who have been with me all this way know that I started to love it!!!

Ever since I ended my last challenge, I feel myself slipping away from the person I became on the challenge.

Determined

0 Cravings

Excited about eating healthy

Now, I find myself sneaking back into old habits...

SO since my last 30 days were so successful and felt AWESOME, I announce to you:

I am SO EXCITED to start!!!!

Why did I choose Monday to start.....

Welll that's an old habit. I like starting things on the first of the week!

What do you think?
