Awesome KB Workout, IR4 & FOOD!

Wow!

I had an awesome week last week!

I have been eating ALLOT better Mon-Fri!

I really need to work on getting those weekends under control...but my birthday is this weekend.

SO AFTER MY BDAY! :)

I did this AWESOME wod tonight and loved it! I have decided now that I am not attending a CrossFit gym I really need to push myself harder and challenge myself.

Since I HATE running, I have dedicated myself to do ALLOT more running and be able to run SIX miles by November!!

NEXT up, IR4!!!

I found this AWESOME webpage IR4 through the mom of the little girl I do respite care for!

This website & facebook group pairs athletes up with special needs children and you run or train for them!

From the Website:

"We all have friends who say “run some for me” because they don’t WANT to run… what about those who physically CAN’T run?  After an inspiration from a close friend who was battling bilateral hip dyspasia – Founder Tim Boyle found a whole new inspiration to run.

The mental and emotional encouragement for both runner and honorary runner is proving to be a whole new level of motivation and awareness.  Runners are able to find a whole new sense of purpose in their running while sharing who they are running for and bringing awareness to diseases and disabilities of all types".

I've signed up to be partnered with a special person I can dedicate my training to!

What a wonderful and amazing opportunity we have to train and run for someone who cannot. I am SO excited to get my partner!

Last but not least, here are some pictures of the delicious food I have been feasting on lately:

(lite cool whip & strawberries)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

First AT HOME WORKOUT!!!

Today was my FIRST day at Captain Jeff's Boot camp!!!

My sis in law (really just my boyfriends-brothers-wife, but sister in law is much easier to say) and I were super pumped to start our first day!

I can already tell this is going to be ALLOT of fun!

I truly loved my CrossFit gym, but it was VERY nice to workout with just one other person & feel like I was getting the attention and 1 on 1 time I needed with a coach!

We started with some dynamic stretching:

Then worked on some skills with the Barbells... Something I haven't done since my first days at CrossFit!

It was nice to go back to basics and refresh my memory on the skills I had learned (and some I had forgotten!)

Practicing perfect form before starting the lift
WHERE ARE YOU TRIPLE EXTENSION???
Split Jerk!

In these pics I am refreshing my memory of the proper form needed for Clean & Jerks... Can you tell I DO NOT have a triple extension!!?? Still working on that form!

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, a triple extension looks like this:
(the middle picture)

After the warm up & skill session, we did a Mini Wod!

I finished in 3 minutes and a small amount of seconds that I do not remember!!

It felt pretty great to workout, and be surrounded by people the I love and trust and I am VERY excited to continue my at home workouts!!!!

Question of the day....
WHAT am I doing in this Picture!!!?????

Found this gem with the workout pics my boyfriend took.. hmm??

A Very HAPPY Monday Workout!

Hey Guys!

I hope everyone had a Happy Monday!

I know I did, thanks to this AWESOME workout!!

Today, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER:
I was able to do handstand push ups FULL BODY WEIGHT with no extra mat's/cushions!!!!

I've never been able to do this in a workout before so I was VERY excited/happy!!!

ALSO!

I have been getting VERY MANY annoying anonymous comments from what seems to be some type of spam...

So I will be changing the comment options to the option where you have to prove your not a machine..
SORRY if that makes commenting more difficult!!!

If you can't tell from the many exclamation points above, I am VERY happy and I have been in a fantastic mood for about a MONTH now!!

Allot of new and exciting things have been happening in my life!!

This Saturday I will be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

My boyfriend has been a member of the church his whole life and absolutely LOVES it.

I have been going to church with him for about 3 years now, so this decision was not made lightly!

If you want to know more about the church, Blogger The Life of Bon (one of my favorites) blogged about it in a great post HERE!

I'm so excited and so filled with joy to be starting this new chapter of my life, and I wanted to share it with YOU guys, because you guys are AWESOME and I love you.

Seriously, I love every single one of you!

Happy Monday!

Workout: Farmer Carries and Sled Push!!!

I heard it was national runners day today... I do NOT like running.

I run when I have to at CrossFit, and I (sometimes) enjoy running sprints!

So to celebrate National Runner's Day, I lifted some heavy weights at my gym!!!

(what farmer carries look like!)

The workout we did today included farmer carries & sled pushes!!

Going into the workout I was nervous because I had never done a farmer carry before - but I LOVED it!!!!!

A Farmer Carry is where you pick up something heavy in each hand and walk a certain distance with them!

I did 6 rounds of farmer carries for 20 yards at 80 lbs in each hand!

I definitely could have added more weight - but I was partnered with two other people who were still working on building up their strength, so I just worked with 80 :)

For the Sled Pushes I did 6 rounds for time at 40 yards for 90 lbs!!!

Overall, it was a short but fun workout!

I treated myself afterwards by swimming in the sweet AZ sunshine!

xoxo

Job Interviews, CrossFit & Staying Motivated!

I started out my day by going to a Job Interview!!! I was going for the business profesh look hahah!

What do you think I should do this Summer?

Work 2 jobs and save money for next year, or enjoy myself while it lasts and work 1 job before I start my junior year of College?

(Personally, I'm leaning towards the 2nd option)

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs served omelette style & an avocado

 Lunch: Chicken & Hummus Salad

Snack: Strawberries

Dinner: Famous Dave's BBQ Chicken, Ribs & Green Beans AGAIN!
The boyfriend and I have some FREE coupons we need to finish off before they expire in the end of May!!
BBQ Overload this month!

I LOVED This workout!!! I was able to hit 95lbs on my push press and I did not even catch my time at the end of the dog sleds because I pretty much passed out on the floor, but they were HARD

Just me, dead on the floor after pushing the sled!!!

Tomorrow I have a Training ALL DAY (8 am to 5 pm) for my new/summer job so I packed up a days worth of snacks/meals:

I LOVE feeling prepared and motivated!!!!!! Ever since I have started instagram I have been SUPER motivated to eat as clean as possible and get back into the whole weight loss thing!

What do you do to stay motivated?

First Time Juicing.. I LOVE it!

Today I tried my juicer for the first time!!

I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!!

I just threw together a random assortment of things in my fridge...
(Pear, Apple, Strawberry, Spinach & Carrots)

Used my juicer (it may look old school, but it works GREAT )

 WHAALAA!

How did I get this amazing, old school juicer you might be wondering???

WELL, I had been talking to one of my coworkers about how I really wanted to try juicing and adding juices to my days/meals!

Well, it just so happens that my coworker cleaned out his kitchen last weekend and found that he had an extra juicer!!!

It looks to be made in about the 90's, but was hardly used and works AWESOME!

Especially since it was free... HOLLA!

Now I am busy making plans for juicing for the week ;)

I've been researching different recipes & cucumbers, carrots, & celery are supposed to be more of a "mild" taste (easily hidden by fruit).

Kale is a superfood with tons of vitamins!

& Beets help turn the juice purple/pink (so it looks nicer to drink!)

It's so fun to try new things!

What are some new things you've tried recently?

Wod, Motivation by an Old Frenemy & Photo Diet

First Things First, Today's Wod:

I loved this wod. It was CHALLENGING!
I did the rx 95 lbs cleans... It definitely held me back from getting a score with higher reps... But I felt AWESOME actually being able to do the "rx" version of a workout!

Secondly,
Have you ever had a friend whom you loved dearly...but also felt like there was some sort of unspoken, secret competition going on between the two of you?

Well I have had a few of those friends before in my life!

Last night I was cruising around on instagram, and saw that one of my old friends (frenemy) was now doing Crossfit and eating Paleo!!!

If it was any old friend of mine, I would have been SO happy for them.

And I AM happy for her....

But what REALLY happened was I jumped off my lazy butt, did a late night meal prep for the week:

See! All filled with steamed veggies, sliced fruit, washed spinach and chicken!

Then when I woke up this morning I ate my usual scrambled eggs, but WITH brocolli... AND NO CHEESE!

I love cheese, so that was quite the accomplishment for me.

Then for lunch I had a spinach and chicken salad with some new no sugar added organic dressing from sprouts:

Snacked on an Apple.....

And ate a healthy dinner at the boyfriends house after my wod:

With a dessert of Pineapple, while I watched the newest episode of- The Following!

Who knew that my motivation would return with a vengeance, just from seeing one of my old frenemies from high-school decided to jump on the healthy train?

Do you have any Frenemies?

A little competition never hurt anyone....
