Deer in the Headlights: CrossFit edition

Today's Workout of the Day.... It was TOUGH

It was 5 stations, 3 rounds for time, rotate every minute, rest a minute after each round..

Also known as Fight Gone Bad Format!

First we started out with a warm-up:

After this I was like omg... That used to be like a WHOLE workout for me!!! HAHA

I was def scared for the actual workout tho!

Your score was based on your total amount of reps (except for the row, that was based off calories burned)

I ended up scoring 184, which was def not very high compared to other scores in the group!
And also, I STILL Cannot do a toes to bar yet!

I think I def have a deer in the headlights look on my face in the classes though, as I made friends today with someone in the class, she could tell I was a Newbie and suggested I go to a weightlifting class during the week sometime-

Because they really help you work on your form and technique!

I will def be checking that out this week!!! :)

*****One of my lovely followers asked what I use to create these workout graphics earlier this week, and I  FORGOT to share it...

I Use a FREE photo editor I found online, click   HERE   to access it and see if it works for you and your blog!! :)

Happy Workouts!

Weigh In... I'm a LOSER ;)

I Lost another Pound!!!!

So if I'm on my way to weighing 120 lbs.... I have 26 more pounds to go!

Only 26 more weeks until I'm there!!!!

It SOUNDS like allot...but it really isn't.

I think I GAINED All this weight in less than that...

So 6.5 months left if I lose 1 pound a week from now on ;)

Start: 157
Current: 146
Goal: 120

and here is a little image I needed to remind myself WHY I am doing this the hard way, and not on a crash diet.

I have lost that + 1!!!!!

I am not on a crash diet.. Merely eating healthy & exercising.

The weight is taking care of itself.

I do not want to jeopardize my MUSCLE..just get rid of fat ;)

Thanks to those who check in on me, you guys are a great support!

I Realized I joined a Cult...and I LIKED it

Jeff and I after the Barbells for Boobs event! He finished Grace in 2 min 53 seconds!

Grace is:
30 Clean & Jerks for time
(135 lbs)

Here is his video!!
(ignore the high pitched screaming voice, that's me cheering him on obnoxiously!)

While amongst many other CrossFitters of all stages of fitness, I realized something...

 I joined a cult...and I liked it.

I didn't track my food for the day because I did not even eat ANY real meals until dinner.
Can you say poor meal planning?

The RUDEST thing happened to me.

A girl in my math class needed help with her hw, and made plans with me to meet at a local Starbucks to go over the hw together.

I went at the designated time, and she NEVER showed up.

I've NEVER been "stood up" before and let me tell you, it does NOT feel good.

I texted her (about 20 mins after the designated time) and asked if we were still meeting, after a while I realized I was not getting a response, and I left.

So when she texted me 2 hours later and asked if we could meet tomorrow morning instead, I told her I had plans.

Am I in the wrong? I feel bad that she needs help, but I am having a hard time FORGIVING someone I waited 1 hour for, in a Starbucks, by myself, while drinking this sugary/fattening drink to cheer myself up:

What would you have done?

Here are some more pics from the event...

I hope by NEXT YEAR when Barbells for Boobs does its annual CF event in AZ, I will be COMPETING too!!!!!

Right after he finished... isn't he cute??

Tips to be Healthy in College

I recently shared one of my grocery lists with you:

This is just one of the steps/planning methods I am going to use while in school to stay ON TRACK!
Not everyone reading this may be in college, but everyone knows what it's like to be in a HURRY!

Sometimes, I think the biggest challenge I face is when I am not prepared, HUNGRY and have to buy somthing out of a vending machine.

While I have not done that in the past eight weeks, I have also been on Summer Vacation.

Being hungry at school or at work with no snacks or if I had no time to pack/eat lunch is the WORST!

I used to be NOTORIOUS for just saying "whatevs"
and buying poptarts for lunch from a vending machine.

Obviously if I want to continue this journey towards a HEALTHY, LONG LIFE

I can't do that anymore.

So here are some of the tips I have (for myself) and anyone else who finds them beneficial:

Buy Non-Perishable Healthy Snacks Ahead of Time...Lots of them.

Then store them!

Pre-Portion ALL your snacks Ahead of Time!
(To avoid over snacking)

My Cute Little, Tiny Paleo Pantry
In the bags I have portioned out dried apples, dark chocolate, nuts, & dried bananas that should last me a WHILE!!

I even bought those sweet potatoes that are washed & you microwave them in the plastic for SPEED

(These are also the PERFECT snacks for me to eat in class/at work)

Even the stuff in my fridge is portioned...
Yogurt, cheese sticks, carrots in baggies ect....

I am PREPARED!

Bring it ON college!

Now... when will I workout?!

Well, I deemed this my New Motto, and YES it's going up on my black-board:

We'll see how this semester goes!

Weekly Weigh-in LOST 1 Pound!!!

Every Sunday I weigh myself and take new progress pictures.

Last Sunday I maintained weight after my trip to Disneyland and a cheat date with the Boyfriend.

This week I pushed myself hard in my workouts and ate very well, I am SO HAPPY to have weighed in at 152!

I have lost 5 pounds in 8 weeks!
(that's healthy weightloss for ya, slow and steady wins the race)
Here is my beggining picture:
I wish I took my measurements, because even though I am losing weight at a slow pace, It looks like I may have lost some inches??

School starts on tomorrow and I am so freaked out! I have had TONS of time this Summer to workout and now everyday I will have to go straight from school to work until 6 p.m.....

So I am going to try and get ahead today!

First I will go out grocery shopping for these things:
Then I am going to cook ALL the chicken, as well as per-portion out all of the dark chocolate, nuts, & carrots...

I'm hoping this will help keep me in check this week!

Wish me luck!
